A new production facility for Scelta Products (part of McCain Foods) has been realized at the De Poort Business Park in Rilland (NL). At Scelta, a variety of frozen, fried vegetable snacks is produced under stringent food safety requirements. Bouwbedrijf Vrolijk acted as the contractor for this sustainable building which was built according to the requirements of the BREEAM-NL 2020 Outstanding regulations. Electrical installer Famateq was responsible for all electrical installations, including the lighting. Together with them, Luminaid has conceived an optimal lighting plan, including for the cold stores and freezers. The results are impressive!

Futura Coldstore

In Hoče, Slovenia, Futura Cold Stores has a state-of-the-art cold store and company, based on the most modern techniques. Equipped with the most advanced cooling techniques, Fudura Coldstore supplies frozen storage capacity for the whole of Slovenia. Together with lighting expert Pro-Bis, Luminaid signed up for the realization of the lighting system. And the result may be there. Futura and Luminaid will work closely together in the coming years on the re-lighting of other projects in the region.

Kloosterboer has realized a new state-of-the-art fully automatic multi-customer high-rise cold store with a storage capacity of 60,000 pallet places at the City Terminal in Rotterdam.

Two years after the realization of Kloosterboer Cool Port I, where LUMINAID also supplied the DATALUX linear lighting, a state-of-the-art fully automatic high-rise cold store has now been realized. Pallets are delivered by self-unloading or conventional trucks and are automatically transported from the dispatch hall via roller conveyors, turntables and locks to the cold store, where cranes automatically place the pallets in place.

Challenge

Nature’s Pride is known for its avocados, but many are unaware that they import many other fruits and vegetables. In this way they contribute to a healthy lifestyle. Nature’s Pride is growing fast and has therefore expanded its existing building considerably in 2021. Naturally, there was a need for the best lighting.

Solution

Mansveld Techniek was responsible for the entire electrical installation technology. Together with them, LUMINAID has realized various test setups to convince Nature’s Pride that DATALUX linear lighting is the best technology for their business process. That has become apparent! After the entire expansion was fitted with DATALUX linear lighting, Nature’s Pride also chose to provide the ripening cells with DATALUX via Van Wensen Elektrotechniek.

Challenge

Van der Zee Vlees, based in Twello, offers catering entrepreneurs the service of the standard butcher around the corner, with the range and specialism of a professional catering butcher. For example, van der Zee is the traditional butcher of HANOS. In its butchers, Van der Zee inspires customers with distinctive regional concepts, meat products from our own sausage factory and an international range. The former meat processing company in Twello has recently been completely renovated and modernized. For example, in a large part of the building, so-called food-safe walls and ceilings have been renewed and hygienic floors have been installed to meet the latest strict hygiene requirements. A high-quality food-safe lighting system could of course not be missing.

Solution

Together with consultant RBK and installer Harwig, the LUMINAID project team has drawn up an optimal lighting plan, which meets the highest hygiene requirements. The choice for DATALUX line lighting is therefore logical. The Harwig installers provided the complete installation, creating an energy-efficient, hygienic and pleasant working environment.

Challenge

Beyond Meat burgers resemble meat in taste and texture, although they are made from vegetable products. California-based Beyond Meat has been making headway in North America for some time, where it is best known for what it says is the barely distinguishable meatless Beyond Burger. For the European market, Beyond Meat works together with Zandbergen in the Netherlands. The most innovative meat processing facility was recently opened. That would, of course, have been impossible without using the most suitable lighting system for this application: DATALUX.

Solution

Together with RBK and Linthorst Installatietechniek, LUMINAID has provided the complete lighting for the production facilities of these innovative meat substitutes. The installed DATALUX linear lighting provides an excellent light level for the employees without compromising hygiene and sustainability.

Cold and high! That is the new cold storage facility of The Juice House. Juice House started in 1994 as a logistics service provider for the fruit juice industry at a central location in Europe. Over the years it has developed into an experienced, efficient and flexible company in the specialist market of storage and transport of frozen fruit juices. The Juice House has realized a new innovative cold store to facilitate growth.

Solution

Together with Nabuurs Elektrotechniek from Boxmeer, LUMINAID provided the complete lighting in the cold store. The DATALUX system provides a unique light experience under extreme conditions.

Coldstorage Van Soest

Challenge

Cooling & Freezing Company Van Soest BV started in 1989 with the freezing of mushrooms. Their mushrooms are exported worldwide to leading brands in the food industry, catering and retail in around sixty countries. After a major fire in earlier in 2018, the business premises had to be built up quickly and adequately. This was also an opportunity to set up a new high-quality production. This of course included the best light level available in the market. Van Soest also opted for the reconstruction in accordance with the latest BREEAM guidelines.

Solution

The electrical installation company De Kock from Geldermalsen was soon engaged to realize the electronic installations against the latest requirements. Van Soest needed lighting suitable for the demanding food production environment. The choice for DATALUX light lines was therefore made quickly. Within a few weeks, De Kock and the LUMINAID assembly teams succeeded in making this project a success.

GEA Food Solutions Bakel

Challenge

GEA is one of the largest suppliers of process technology for the food industry and a large number of other industries. A quarter of all milk and one in three chicken nuggets are processed with GEA equipment. GEA is also an important player when it comes to beer. To give you an impression; of every two liters of beer produced, 1 liter of beer is brewed with equipment from GEA. In Bakel, The Netherlands, GEA specializes in the production of machines and complete production lines for the production, cutting and packaging of meat or cheese,. E.g. the portfolio of solutions and machines in the field of processing and packaging of food supplies added value to products that you find in the supermarket and that are sold at fast food chains and food service companies. An important part of the Bakel site is the showroom where GEA shows its latest developments to potential customers. Together with her home installer Hoppenbrouwers Techniek Deurne, an optimal lighting system was sought that was suitable for such a challenging environment

Solution

GEA and Hoppenbrouwers have opted for a DATALUX.LT lighting system that provides the room with an unprecedented level of light. Challenge

You name it, they bake it! The Real Baker has a new business premises where they manufacture delicious muffins, bagels, pies and other specialties. Installation company Techtron realized the associated installation technology. It was important that all installation technology, including the lighting, meet the strictest food safety requirements.

Biocenter ZANN

Challenge

BIO-Center ZANN imports and exports organic vegetables, fruit and flowers all over the world. They do this very successfully, creating the need for a new business premises. An important part of this new construction was a high-quality and food-safe working environment in accordance with the highest HACCP requirements. Safe lighting is an important part of that.

Solution

Together with contractor Unibouw and installation company Van Mackelenbergh, a working environment was created with, among other things, a high level of light with good color recognition. A high-quality DATALUX lighting system was used for this.

Cheese Storage De Producten

Challenge

“De Producent” is a cooperative that was originally established for the export of full-fat Gouda Cheese under the Rijksmerk. The association was created to enable cheese-producing farmers to compete against large traders. Because of this the farmers know a purchase guarantee and a fixed compensation for the cheeses. More than a hundred years later, De Producent still guarantees the purchase and responsible purchasing of the cheese produced by its farmers. Due to the growth of the sales market at home and abroad, De Producent has grown into a modern and flexible company and has become one of the larger “Boerenkaas” and “Kaas van de Boerderij” suppliers in Europe. To facilitate this growth, a new warehouse in Moordrecht, The Netherlands, has been put into use, ready to store more than 2.6 million kilograms of cheese. With this storage, a high-quality light level with which the quality of the product can be assessed properly can be crucial. Lighting specialist ETK Lighting has been commissioned for the realization of the best suitable lighting.

In addition to a good light level, it was important that the lighting to be used met the stringent requirements that apply to the storage of fresh foodstuffs such as cheese. Then the choice quickly falls on the DATALUX lighting system. The entire warehouse is therefore equipped with a DATALUX.LT lighting system.

BRESC Produits Culinair

CHALLENGE
Bresc is the cool freshener specialist for the culinary professional. To enable further growth, BRESC will centralize all its activities in a new business premises in 2018. During the development and construction by Aan de Stegge Twello, strict requirements were imposed on an extremely clean production environment. The installation technique had to be durable, cleanable and resistant to the various cleaning agents that were used. In addition, every room had to be equipped with an extensive audio installation, including the possibility of broadcasting. The installation specifications and the supervision of the realization were in the hands of Markkant Advies.

SOLUTION
An integral light plan based on the DATALUX.IQ light line system. This provides a high light level, with excellent color and product recognition, HACCP suitable and equipped with integrated audio electronics. All cabling and external connection materials have been expertly concealed by DKC above the technical ceiling.

Delicia Chocolates

CZ Cheese Manufacturing

CHALLENGE
CZ Rouveen is a renowed cheese maker in The Netherlands. A replacement of existing single IP65 luminaires by LED lines was required,  meeting standards related to water resistance and HACCP i.v. cheese storage. The sides of the rack must be well lit.

SOLUTION
The DATALUX system is standard IP65 therefore ideally suited in this demanding environment. By applying the new Wide-Beam lens icm with a lumen package of 8000lm. Due to the wide light emission, the lines could be placed relatively far apart. In case of voltage drop the whole line switches over as an emergency lighting fixture. The line is fed in emergency situation from a central battery pack (at the beginning of the line) with an autonomy of 1 hour.

Go-Tan Sauces

CHALLENGE
LED lighting that meets the HACCP standard for the food industry. Good even lighting in the Production Room (500lux) and in the Warehouse (200lux)

SOLUTION
The DATALUX.IQ lines are mounted on a walkable Insulation / Sanitary ceiling where the drivers are mounted above the ceiling. In the warehouse, the continuous continuous line ensures optimum vertical uniformity without the lighting being blinding for the forklift truck drivers. The lighting in the production areas is switched and dimmed via KNX control. In the warehouse paths, presence detectors are included in the lines that activate the lighting based on presence.

DC Van Dijk wholesales

CHALLENGE
Lighting in the 1st energy-neutral Distribution Center of the North-East Netherlands consisting of an Expedition room and 8 racking paths of 35m.

SOLUTION
In the expedition wide-beam luminaires of 8000 lumens and 3500 lumens luminescent luminaires in the positioning paths. Due to the continuously continuous light line, there is no glare and the vertical uniformity of illumination on the product, especially at the top of the shelf, is optimal. The energy absorbed in the rack paths is only 8W per meter.
